Marketing and Psychology
Recently I have been thinking & reading a lot about psychology and human behavior.
Understanding what motivates people to take action and what factors reinforce or get in the way of that action is key.
My hope is that by taking time to understand these motivators, I can inspire others to take positive action to benefit themselves, their family, friends, company, and the world.
So, naturally, I have to ask- What books / articles / research have you found useful on this topic? Drop the links below👇
I’ll start:
Kit Yarrow's: Decoding the New Consumer Mind: How and Why We Shop and Buy - https://www.amazon.com/Decoding-New-Consumer-Mind-Shop/dp/1118647688/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1Y4J2RWMIYK9V&dchild=1&keywords=kit+yarrow&qid=1591820456&sprefix=kit+yarr%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-1
PS this is from a recent LinkedIn post I made - see more suggestions here

The six principles of persuasion in Robert Cialdini's "Influence" is a great one. There's an old Seeking Wisdom episode on the book, if you just want a quick overview!
This is a great thread, @Pat Timmons - I love this stuff too! Just because it's top of mind, I really liked this timely article from the Qualtrics XM institute about "Tapping into the Six Traits of Human Beings During a Crisis"(https://www.xminstitute.com/blog/six-traits-human-beings-crisis/).
These are not marketing-specific, but I always get great perspectives on human behavior from the NPR podcasts Hidden Brain (https://www.npr.org/podcasts/510308/hidden-brain) and Invisibilia (https://www.npr.org/podcasts/510307/invisibilia)
And the books by Chip and Dan Heath (Switch, Made to Stick, and The Power of Moments) have fantastic insights and are very fun to read!
