Drift Chat 🤖

  • Updating Preview mode in the Desktop app
    • What: Now the only time you'll be blocked from the composer is if you're not allowed to join a conversation or send a message (in the case of billing/role restrictions). When you chat to a customer from the composer in a conversation you're not in, you'll automatically join and send the message! And from the "All Conversations" view, you'll be able to view any conversation without joining it so that you can monitor your team's chats without getting involved.
    • Why: We've heard tons of customer feedback that they want to be able to view a conversation without having to join it sometimes (when the convo was empty), and also that they want to be able to access the composer (for things like internal notes and slash commands) without having to join the conversation.
    • Where: New convo experience (app.drift.com/conversations or desktop app)
    • Who: Everyone
  • Easier "Copy conversation link" button!
    • What: So, now there's a shortcut in the shortcut menu to copy the link to a conversation.
    • Why: A Drifter asked the team to make copying a link from the desktop app easier since they does it all day long and it's kind of a pain in the butt right now. Fair enough, and I figured if they had that complaint, so do our customers!
    • Where: New convo experience (app.drift.com/conversations or desktop app)
    • Who: Everyone

Drift Email 💌

  • Improved matching for bot replies on email campaigns
    • What: Now, each campaign email will be tagged with a unique identifier, so we can be confident that the correct bot is handling all those replies coming in without needing to check every other campaign's subject line for conflicts.
    • Why: When replies to email campaigns come in, we were previously matching the bot to handle the reply off of the subject line. This is problematic since it relies on subject lines between campaigns being unique. If not, any bot with a matching subject could reply creating a lot of confusion and unintended emails sent to our customer's prospects.
    • Where: Drift Email (any newly created/cloned campaign)
    • Who: Drift Email customers
  • Pardot Email Bots Audiences
    • What: Ability to send an email campaign to a Pardot list. Email Bots customers can now import any contact list from Pardot (as well as Marketo and HubSpot to use as their audience, contacts will be automatically enrolled in and unenrolled from a campaign if added or removed from the connected list.
    • Why: Previously, if an email bots customer used Pardot as their MAP they would have to rely on static lists, now they can leverage the power of dynamic lists in their campaigns.
    • Where: Email bots
    • Who: Email bots customers using Pardot

Drift Video 📹

  • Adding a Comment When Requesting Access to a Private Video
    • What: If you are trying to view a private video you can now add a comment as to why you want to see it!
    • Why: This provides the creator of the video with further clarity as to why someone wants to view their private video. This helps start a conversation between the viewer and rep even earlier!!
    • Where: Video permission modal on private videos
    • Who: Pro & Teams Video customers
